Well here they are, what I have been waiting for ever since I saw the runway show for Isabel Marant Spring Summer 2011. I haven't stopped going on about these since I set my eyes on them and for those of you that have read my previous posts, a while back I posted about these babies and my love for the designer Isabel Marant.
I was so excited when I got the phone call of their arrival and of course I dropped everything and ran in to pick them up. As soon as I got home I tried them on with loads of different tops as I didn't want to just have the option of wearing them with my usual jersey collection of basic tops, even though this will have a really laid back feel, which is just what I like. The Isabel Marant runway show of California, baseball and beach looks inspired me, along with the advertising campaign with Gisele wearing a knitted jumper top with the pink hot pants.
Here are a few of the options I found in my wardrobe to team up with my jeans to get the complete look that Isabel would appreciate. All of these tops just so happen to be Marc by Marc Jacobs and they all give the jeans a different style. The spray paint grey tee works really well with the colours and is a great toned down daytime look. The cream knitted jumper is my favourite look I think, it is cropped at the front so shows the waistband detail perfectly, the silk tie is the perfect colour match to the jumper and it is a really cool, fresh look, a bit more fashion forward as obviously wearing cream and bright pink together will not let you fade into the background. The final picture is of my pale denim shirt, I was quite surprised that this worked so well together but this takes on the sorbet colour summer trend really well. The denim shirt as it is quite over sized works best tucked into the jeans and again this then gives it more a sexy feel and shows off the amazing waistband detail perfectly.
Hope you love them as much as I do!
Thankyou Isabel Marant

Hi!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering where you found your the pants. I've tried everywhere but most places they are sold out. I was also wondering about the sizing, do they run small?
Thanks so much for your help, and I really like your blog. =)
P.S. I tried sending you an email but I think there is something wrong with your site. It kept saying "wrong code" entered, even though I entered it correctly about half a dozen times and also after refreshing the page.
Take care.
I just got mine and they run super small. I normally take a size 1 (uk 10) and my size 2 of these pants fits quite snug. So much for the baggy look...no exchange they are sold out everywhere...
ReplyDeleteHi Andie
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment.
I got mine from Selfridges Manchester, I know they have sold out in the London store.
Let me know if you want to order some as they have a few left and I can give you a name and number to ring to order a pair directly from Manchester.
The jeans do run pretty small, I got a size 1 and I take a UK 8/10 and yes they are pretty snug 'anonymous', I do not know how anyone will be able to wear them baggy like on the runway.
ps. Thanks for letting us know about the e-mail, we will try and sort it out quickly.
Take Care
